What if the operating system on your computer, you know the Vista, the Linux or my own personal weapon of choice; the Mac OS X, could allow you to create contextual links between the files on your computer?

There are a fair number of software packages that allow you to create tree-structure mind-maps. And all graphic user interface operating systems allow you to view your files in a two dimensional space.

So what if we could mash-up these concepts and allow a space, preferably an active desktop, where you can create links between files. When you then browse to a file or a folder, you could travel through a tube, on a linear journey to your destination, getting the full context of what you are busy with.

If we extend other functions that are relevant, like to-do lists and events in your calendar application to be linked to files and folders, you could construct a Get it Done system right on your desktop.

Such a simple thought, it really is surprising that no OS producer has at least offered it as an option for browsing items.

Your epsonality?
